Mumbai, Dec 22 (LatestNewsX) Bollywood’s timeless icon Amitabh Bachchan recently shared a touching memory of his very first encounter with Punjabi music maestro Gurdas Maan, captivating fans all over again.
A nostalgic clip from the popular quiz reality show has gone viral online, featuring the legendary actor vividly recounting that unforgettable moment with the Punjabi superstar.
With genuine admiration in his voice, Big B confessed, “Let me tell you something. I’m a big fan of Gurdas Maan. And I’ve been listening to him for many years. And I don’t know if he remembers me or not, but I’m reminding him”.
He went on to describe the scene: “The first time we met was at an airport. And as soon as he came, he bowed to me. I got so nervous. I said, ‘What a great man you are’. Don’t ever do this. I’m not worthy of this. I bow to you”.
In response, Gurdas Maan offered profound words of respect: “You take such good care of an elderly person, a child, or anyone who can’t walk properly. And even if they have a tear in their eyes, you treat them respectfully because the knowledge and art that you have inside you is not common. It’s very bright. It’s an example of perfectness. Thank you so much”.
Just a few days back, Amitabh Bachchan honored the 18th death anniversary of his beloved late mother, Teji Bachchan. He poured his heart out on his blog, posting a cherished photo of her alongside a deeply emotional tribute to keep her memory alive.
In his poignant note, he wrote, “Maa ki yad main din samarpit aaj ka din. December 21. Kuch kehne ke liye shabd nahi hote bas… Prarthanayein. (Dedicated to Maa’s memory, today. December 21. There are no words left to say, bas… only prayers)”.
Teji Bachchan tied the knot with renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan in Allahabad back in 1941, embracing the role of a homemaker after her marriage. Despite her domestic life, she nurtured a passion for the stage and would occasionally mesmerize audiences by singing at social events when encouraged.
The couple welcomed two sons, Amitabh and Ajitabh Bachchan. Teji spent nearly the entire year of 2007 in the hospital, her health declining sharply until she was moved to the ICU in November that year. She passed away at the age of 93 on December 21, 2007, following a long battle with illness.
Shifting gears to Amitabh’s latest updates, the superstar recently addressed the delay of his grandson Agastya Nanda‘s upcoming film ‘Ikkis‘ with a personal note. Originally slated for October 2, the release was pushed back and then eyed for Christmas on December 25, clashing with Kartik Aaryan‘s romantic comedy drama ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri‘.
Now, the movie is locked in for an exclusive New Year’s Day premiere on January 1. Helmed by acclaimed director Sriram Raghavan, this gripping war drama draws from the heroic life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, focusing on the intense Battle of Basantar in the 1971 India-Pakistan War.
