During the fourth day of the Bihar Assembly’s winter session, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar delivered a detailed presentation outlining the achievements of the NDA government. The Assembly also debated the Governor’s speech earlier that day.
As he wrapped up his address, the Chief Minister turned to the opposition and said, “We kept you (RJD leaders) on the sidelines twice, and we carried out so much work. At that time, you accepted everything I said.” He went on to add, “When you made mistakes, we left you, but now we will never leave. This is our own place, and we will stay here. But remember the work which has been done by our government.”
Tejashwi Yadav, Leader of the Opposition, was absent from the House when CM Nitish spoke. Repeating his critique, the chief minister asked the opposition, “Why aren’t you working? Others are. If work is done, it helps everyone.” The NDA has frequently accused the former RJD governments of “pushing the state into darkness.”
After CM Nitish’s remarks, Bhai Virendra attempted to interject, but the chief minister pressed on, asserting that his administration had sidelined the opposition twice and delivered significant developmental projects during the NDA’s tenure.
Later in his speech, CM Nitish highlighted the government’s strides in health. He noted that primary health centres, previously underutilised, now see an average of 11,600 patients monthly. The number of medical colleges in Bihar has doubled from six to 12, with plans underway to establish institutions in the remaining 27 districts. Construction work, he said, is advancing swiftly and will soon be finished.
The chief minister also praised the “excellent work we have done to restore the existing PMCH.” He added, “We visited the PMCH so often, and we built so many buildings, and we constantly visit every place. The PMCH hospital now has 5,400 beds.”
