Singer Jelly Roll claims he was ‘treated like a criminal’ in Sydney Louis Vuitton store

US country‑rapper Jelly Roll says a visit to a Louis Vuitton shop in Sydney turned into a “criminal” experience. He posted the story on Instagram on Wednesday while he was on a break from his Australian tour.

The Nashville‑based singer, who been playing shows at the Strummingbird Festival and other local venues, walked into the high‑end store expecting a normal shopping trip. According to his video, the sales staff stared at him as if he were about to rob the place. “We were treated like we were finna come in and rob that place,” he wrote, adding that it was the most intense “criminal” look he’d ever received.

Fans on Instagram jumped in with comments to tease the artist. One replied, “Welcome to Sydney,” while another joked, “Sydney, the home of ‘Sorry, no neck tats!’” The crowd of comments mixed humor and sympathy, and many urged him to share what happened in more detail.

News.com.au has reached out to Louis Vuitton for a comment on the incident, and the retailer has not yet responded.

The incident comes at a time when Jelly Roll is still dealing with personal drama. The singer recently opened up about an affair with his wife, Bunnie XO, on the Human School podcast, calling it “one of the worst moments of my adulthood.” He said he has been working to repair their relationship and that the process has made them “stronger than we could have ever been.”

In the same interview, Jelly Roll spoke about the people who influenced his past mistakes. He said that he hung out with people who were having affairs, using cocaine, and drinking heavily. Since then, he has gone sober and says he no longer sticks with “sh***ty” people simply because they are long‑time friends.

Beyond the controversy with the Sydney shop, the tour has kept Jelly Roll busy across Australia. He’s performed at Harvest Rock, Sunburnt Country, and the popular Strummingbird Festival, among other dates.

For now, the focus is on his recent post that saw him labeled a “criminal” by a luxury retailer—a claim that drew a wave of comments, jokes, and support from his fan base. The artist hopes the incident will not distract from his music or his efforts to mend personal ties.
