India, Israel ink MoU to enhance defence, tech and co-production at 17th JWG meet in Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv – On Nov. 4, India and Israel signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) to deepen their defense partnership. The agreement was signed at the 17th Joint Working Group meeting on defense cooperation, which was co‑hosted by Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Israel’s Defense Ministry chief, Maj‑Gen Amir Baram.

The MoU outlines a broad framework for closer ties in several areas. Both sides will expand strategic dialogue, conduct joint training exercises, and boost cooperation in defense industry development. The focus will also be on cutting‑edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, cyber‑security, and research and development. The goal is to share advanced defense tech and launch joint projects for co‑development and co‑production.

During the meeting, leaders reviewed current defense cooperation and highlighted the benefits of sharing expertise. They also discussed ways to increase collaboration in technology innovation and operational capability in the coming years.

India and Israel emphasized their joint commitment to counter‑terrorism and to addressing shared security challenges. The new MoU builds on a foundation of mutual trust and shared strategic interests, promising to strengthen bilateral ties in an evolving global security environment.
