Austin Butler shares if he is open to fatherhood

Austin Butler, the 34‑year‑old Hollywood star who turned into a rock‑and‑roll icon in the biopic Elvis, says he’s shifting his focus from stunt‑driven fame to building a solid personal life. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the actor admitted that he once felt he had to “destroy everything else” to achieve greatness. He now believes that letting go of past mistakes will help him grow both on and off the screen.

“I get one life, so I want to make that one count,” Butler told Vanity Fair. “I’m working on becoming the best friend, partner, husband, and someday, a father.” The actor noted that his new mindset comes from a deeper understanding of what really matters—relationships, not just roles.

People magazine reports that Butler has not yet become a father, but he’s already excited about the possibility of growing a family. Recently, the actor has stepped into the role of “fun uncle” for Ashley Tisdale’s four‑year‑old daughter, Jupiter. During the Los Angeles premiere of his new film Bikeriders in June 2024, Butler spoke with E! News about his close bond with the former Disney Channel star and her children.

“I love being the fun uncle,” he said. “I play with the toys and then I get to go home.” Blanket compliments followed his comments: “Ashley is such a great mom. I’m honored to be a part of her children’s lives,” Butler added.

The actor’s work has taken him to big blockbusters like Dune: Part Two, but he’s now looking forward to quieter moments. “Film work is exciting, but making those consistent, healthy connections is what I’m hoping for in the next chapter,” Butler said.

Butler’s conversation highlights how his career has shaped his personal outlook. He believes that starring in high‑profile projects does not automatically make one mature or emotionally stable. Instead, he stresses that personal growth comes from intentional actions—setting goals, learning to say no when necessary, and building a supportive network.

The former Elvis impersonator is also said to be pursuing a career beyond acting. He’s exploring scripts that let him play paternal characters on screen, hoping that this role‑playing will help him translate that experience to real life.

In an age when celebrity families make headlines and fans adore on‑screen chemistry, Austin Butler’s candid remarks could resonate with many. Whether he finally expands his own family or continues supporting his “fun‑uncle” duties, the actor’s open approach to life and relationships offers a human interest spin that readers across the globe will appreciate.
