A proud moment for India, this will strengthen new India’s global identity, says Paralympic athlete Bhavnaben Chaudhary

New Delhi, Nov 27 – LatestNewsX reports that Para‑Olympic athlete Bhavnaben Chaudhary was overjoyed when Ahmedabad won the bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games.
She called the achievement a historic and emotional moment for Indian sport, stating: “It is a proud moment for India. After 20 years, we have once again received the opportunity to host the Commonwealth Games. This event will strengthen New India’s global identity. For young athletes across the country, it is a matter of honour that the 2030 Commonwealth Games will take place in India.”
Bhavana highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s enduring commitment to Indian sports and his continuous support for young athletes. She added, “The Prime Minister has always supported sports and boosted the morale of young athletes. In 2010, India performed strongly at the Commonwealth Games and in 2030 we will be even better,” Bhavanaben Chaudhary told LatestNewsX.
The Ahmedabad 2030 organisers will partner with Commonwealth Sport and international federations to finalize a programme of 15–17 sports that follows the recent Sport Programme Review. They are also considering adding disciplines such as T20 cricket, shooting, hockey, wrestling, judo, rugby sevens, and 3×3 basketball, and may introduce two new sports at the host’s discretion.
Under Narendra Modi’s vision, Ahmedabad has risen to a world‑class sports destination, boasting state‑of‑the‑art infrastructure, advanced training ecosystems, and international‑standard facilities. Sports analysts predict that the Games will elevate India’s global sporting profile while driving tourism, job creation, and economic growth.
