On Monday, Mumbai’s media outlets covered a touching tribute from Rajveer Deol, who shared a throw‑back photo of himself with his grandfather on Instagram. In the caption he wrote, “Happy birthday bade papa. Love you so much, I still hear your voice in my head, I know your always around me.” The image showed the young actor wrapped around Dharmendra, echoing a sense of closeness that Rajveer says lives in his thoughts.
Later that day, Karan Deol reflected on the legacy of his “Bade Papa.” He posted, “Bade Papa I grew up watching you, how you carried yourself, how you treated people, how you stayed grounded no matter what life threw at you. Everything I try to be today… a calmer mind, a kinder heart, a stronger person… it all comes from you.” Karan went on to describe the quiet certainty his father’s hugs gave him and how those memories shaped him into the person he is today, adding, “Your hugs gave me warmth, that quiet reassurance. You made everything feel okay without even saying a word. I miss that more than I can explain. There will never be anyone like you, Bade Papa. Thank you for shaping me in ways I understood only when I grew up. Thank you for loving me the way only you could. I carry you with me every day. I love you. And I miss you, always. Happy Birthday!”
Sunny Deol himself posted a sentimental message, indicating that although his father passed away, he feels Dharmendra’s presence daily. “Today is my father’s birthday. Papa is always with me, inside me love you papa. Miss you,” he wrote, and shared a vintage clip of Dharmendra enjoying a peaceful mountain view.
With a career spanning more than six decades and over 300 films, Dharmendra passed away on November 24 at the age of 89, leaving behind a lasting impact on Bollywood and the next generation of actors.
