Tragic House Collapse in Jaipur: Elderly Woman Dies, Daughter-in-Law Injured
In a heartbreaking incident, a 79-year-old woman lost her life when an old house suddenly collapsed in Jaipur’s Subhash Chowk area on Thursday morning. Her daughter-in-law suffered injuries, including a fracture, and is now getting treatment at SMS Hospital.
The collapse happened around 7:00 am in the Pradeep Sahu building, a structure that officials had flagged as unsafe. Deputy Commissioner of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) Heritage, Seema Chaudhary, shared details with . She explained that the JMC had issued a warning notice on August 12 about the building’s poor condition and urged the residents to vacate it right away. Sadly, no one moved out, leading to this devastating tragedy.
"We got the news at 7:00 am, and rescue teams rushed to the spot immediately," Chaudhary said. Police and emergency workers are still clearing the debris from the site to ensure everything is safe.
