‘Dada’ director Ganesh Babu turns producer; to produce director Dhina Raghavan’s film with actor Gautham Karthik
On Sunday, Chennai (Nov 30) the India News Service (LatestNewsX) reported that director Ganesh Babu—best known for the critically acclaimed hit Dada—announced plans to launch his own production company. His first venture will be a political satire, led by actor Gautham Ram Karthik and directed by Dhina Raghavan.
The newly established company, called Draft by GKB, marked the beginning of its inaugural project, Production No. 1, with a traditional pooja ceremony. The event was attended by celebrated filmmakers H. Vinoth, Raju Murugan, and producer Five Star K Senthil.
In a move that signals his new role as a producer, Ganesh K Babu used his X profile to explain how meaningful this launch is to him. He wrote, “This isn’t just a banner. It’s a piece of me. A small dream I carried silently, a dream that kept growing with every film I watched, every story that moved me, every moment that pushed me closer to who I want to be. Today, with a full heart, I’m happy to announce my own Production House. DRAFT BY GKB@draftbygkb. Here begins a new journey.”
Dhina Raghavan, who has assisted director Raju Murugan, is making his directorial debut with this film. His clear vision, keen sense of satire, and fresh creative approach make him an ideal choice to helm this genre.
The film will also feature director Selvaraghavan in a groundbreaking, never‑seen‑before role that promises to intrigue audiences. Other key performances will come from Anchana Nethrun, Robbie, P. Vasu, A. Venkatesh, Maaran, Indhumathi, Aditya Kathir, and Bakkiyam Sankar.
On the technical side, Sam CS will provide the music, Raju Murugan will write the dialogues, Pratheep Kaliraja will handle cinematography, Tha. Ramalingam will direct the art, and Deepak will be in charge of editing.
