Varun Sood on ‘Reality Ranis Season 2’: One of the most realistic, difficult reality shows in India
Actor Varun Sood is all set to host the exciting second season of Reality Ranis, and this time, he’s diving deeper into the show’s creative side. Varun helped shape the challenges and even designed the living conditions for the contestants, making it one of India’s most realistic and toughest reality shows.
In a recent chat, the enthusiastic host opened up about his hands-on role. "The best part of Reality Ranis Season 2 for me was joining the creative team," Varun shared. He explained how he visited the production office multiple times before filming kicked off to brainstorm ideas. "We talked about the challenges, the living setups, and since Season 1 was such a hit with viewers, I got to experiment a ton as the host. It was super fun!"
Compared to the first season, Varun says this one ramps up the difficulty. "In Season 1, the whole team was new to the format—we were figuring out what clicks and what doesn’t. But for Season 2, we went all out from day one. It’s hands-down one of the most real and challenging reality TV shows in India right now," he added.
Reality Ranis of the Jungle draws inspiration from the Dutch format Echte Meisjes, bringing raw drama and survival vibes to Indian screens.
Varun Sood’s journey to the spotlight is pretty inspiring. He kicked off as a fitness trainer before switching gears to become an MTV VJ. Reality TV became his playground next—he competed in hits like MTV Roadies Season 12, MTV Splitsvilla Season 9, Ace of Space 1, MTV Roadies: Real Heroes, MTV Roadies Season 17, and even Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 11.
Making his acting debut in 2019, Varun played Rahul opposite Divya Agarwal in Ragini MMS: Returns. He popped up in a fun cameo as Gaurav in Karan Johar’s 2022 family entertainer Jugjugg Jeeyo alongside Prajakta Koli. In 2023, fans saw him as Jacob in Potluck Season 2. Lately, he’s been stealing scenes in Karmma Calling with Raveena Tandon, Naam Namak Nishan, and the bubbly Call Me Bae with Ananya Panday.
