Suspect in DC National Guard shooting, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ while firing gun: charging docs

The newly released criminal affidavit confirms that the wild gunman who shot two National Guard soldiers on Washington, D.C.’s streets shouted “Allahu Akbar” as he fired.
Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, an Afghan who arrived in the U.S. in 2021 after the military pull‑out and worked for one of the CIA’s “Zero Units,” fired at West Virginia National Guard personnel, killing Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, and critically wounding Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe.
Beckstrom succumbed to her injuries on Thanksgiving Day, while Wolfe remains in the hospital in a critical condition.
