During Nantucket’s 51st Annual Christmas Stroll, a sudden fight broke out on Federal Street just after the Santa parade. Men—many of them wearing Ralph Lauren and Burberry—ended up in a heated showdown that turned a festive scene into a chaotic melee. The confrontation involved people in their 20s as well as older men, and one witness compared the clash to the rivalry in “West Side Story” but in expensive fashion. Video footage shows the altercation splitting into smaller groups, with younger fighters pushing older men and punches thrown while a black SUV sat nearby. Police arrived around 2 p.m. and are still looking into the incident, but no arrests were made and none of the participants filed charges. The cause of the brawl remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
