PM Modi to launch projects in Arunachal, inaugurate redeveloped temple in Tripura on Monday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi heads to Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura on Monday, September 22, to kick off major infrastructure projects and celebrate cultural heritage. His trip focuses on boosting development, sustainable energy, and tourism in these northeastern states.
Modi starts in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, where he’ll lay the groundwork for projects worth more than Rs 5,100 crore. Expect a public rally where he shares updates on regional growth. A big highlight? Two new hydropower plants to tap the area’s rich water resources for clean energy. The Heo Hydro Electric Project (240 MW) and Tato-I Hydro Electric Project (186 MW), both in the Siyom sub-basin, come with a Rs 3,700 crore price tag and promise sustainable power for the region.
He’ll also break ground on a modern Convention Centre in Tawang, high up at over 9,820 feet. This spot will host up to 1,500 people for conferences, cultural events, and exhibitions, drawing tourists and spotlighting local heritage. Plus, Modi unveils another Rs 1,290 crore in projects covering roads, healthcare, fire services, and hostels for working women. These moves aim to spark jobs, better living standards, and stronger connections across Arunachal Pradesh.
Before wrapping up there, the Prime Minister chats with local taxpayers, traders, and business owners about the latest GST rate changes. It’s all part of his push for easier business and a thriving startup scene in India.
From Arunachal, Modi flies to Tripura to unveil the revamped Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex in Matabari. This ancient site, one of India’s 51 Shakti Peethas in Gomati district’s Udaipur town, gets a fresh look under the government’s PRASAD scheme for pilgrimage sites.
The upgrades turn the complex into a tortoise-shaped marvel from above, with new paths, improved entrances, better fencing, drainage, and a three-story building for shops, a meditation hall, guest rooms, and offices. Officials say it honors Modi’s pledge to protect India’s spiritual roots while supercharging tourism, creating jobs, and driving economic growth in Tripura.
