“Giving anti-national statements has become habit of Congress”: BJP’s Tarun Chugh

BJP Slams Congress Over Sam Pitroda’s Pakistan Remarks, Calls It Anti-National Habit

In a fiery exchange rocking Indian politics, BJP leaders have gone all out against Congress advisor Sam Pitroda’s recent comments on Pakistan. On Friday, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh accused the Congress party of making anti-national statements a regular affair, often targeting the Indian Constitution, institutions, and democracy itself.

Talking to in New Delhi, Chugh didn’t hold back. "Giving anti-national statements and defaming our Constitution, institutions, and democracy has become a habit for Congress," he said. He even dragged Rahul Gandhi into it, claiming that during Operation Sindoor, Gandhi was "dancing to the tunes of Pakistani media" and following Pitroda’s guidance to undermine the Indian Army. This sharp attack highlights the growing rift between BJP and Congress on national security issues.

The controversy kicked off after Pitroda, the Indian Overseas Congress chief, reportedly told the media that he visited Pakistan and felt right at home there. BJP wasted no time in hitting back. At a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari demanded an immediate apology from the Gandhi family—Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi—for staying silent on such remarks.

Bhandari raised tough questions: "Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, why did you keep quiet when former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi called Rahul your idol? Lashkar-e-Taiba wanted talks with Congress—why the silence? Sam Pitroda says Pakistan is his home—why aren’t you speaking up? Your silence means you agree!" He went on to say that Congress wants to create chaos in Indian democracy. Bhandari also pointed out Rahul Gandhi’s recent statement that protecting Indian democracy isn’t his responsibility, but fighting the Indian state is. "The Gandhi-Vadra family must apologize to the nation for Pitroda’s statement," he added.

This isn’t the first time BJP has accused Congress of having shady links with Pakistan-based figures. The party sees Pitroda’s words as a direct threat to India’s sovereignty, fueling debates on anti-national sentiments in opposition politics.

On the other side, Congress leader Pawan Khera tried to downplay the row. Addressing Pitroda’s Pakistan remarks, Khera said he’s not aware of what exactly was said. But he fired back at the BJP’s ideological parent, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). "I haven’t heard Pitroda’s full comments," Khera told . "RSS always talks about Akhand Bharat (undivided India), but when someone else mentions something similar, they lose it. What’s the issue?"

As the political slugfest heats up, eyes are on how Congress responds to these demands for an apology. With elections always around the corner in India, such controversies often dominate headlines on national security and party loyalty. Stay tuned for more updates on this BJP vs Congress clash.
