BJP’s Dilip Ghosh Slams Rahul Gandhi Over Vote Theft Claims in Karnataka
In a sharp attack, BJP leader Dilip Ghosh took a dig at Congress’s Rahul Gandhi after his latest allegations of vote manipulation in Karnataka’s Aland constituency. Speaking to in Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal, on Friday, Ghosh mocked Gandhi’s claims, saying the Congress leader turns his nighttime dreams into morning statements.
"I don’t know what Rahul Gandhi eats or when he sleeps," Ghosh quipped. "But he dreams at night and presents those dreams as facts in the morning. He’s become a joke—no one believes him, not even the media. That’s why he runs off abroad to make these statements, disappears, and then returns. Politics isn’t child’s play like that."
Gandhi had raised the alarm during a press conference on Thursday, accusing authorities of trying to delete over 6,000 voters’ names from the voter list in Karnataka’s Aland area. This fresh controversy has sparked debates on election integrity and voter fraud in India.
Ghosh didn’t stop there. He referenced Gandhi’s earlier "hydrogen bomb" remark on political issues, adding, "Every day, he drops a hydrogen bomb or an atom bomb. But what’s really exploding is his own party—it’s vanishing! Politics runs on real work, not gimmicks. He avoids people and jets off to places like Malaysia and Indonesia. That’s no way to win support."
The BJP leader also hit out at Gandhi for allegedly targeting key institutions. "He attacks the Supreme Court, wastes Parliament’s time, and now goes after the Election Commission," Ghosh said. "Back when his party was in power, everything was perfect, right? The Election Commission stays independent, run by capable officials. If your party loses, blame your strategy—not the system."
Shifting focus to West Bengal, Ghosh voiced serious worries about the rising crime rate, especially crimes against women. "Rape cases aren’t just in colleges anymore—they’re hitting schoolgirls too," he pointed out. "These incidents happen in schools and villages, but Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, a woman herself, stays silent and takes no action. People can’t trust the police or teachers—who can they turn to? How will parents feel safe sending kids to school?"
On a positive note, Ghosh praised the upcoming GST reforms kicking in on September 22, the start of Navratri. "I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for this GST change," he said. "In West Bengal, it’ll help people buy more goods without extra burden, boosting the local economy."
This exchange highlights the ongoing political tussle between BJP and Congress, with key issues like election reforms, voter rights, and women’s safety in West Bengal grabbing attention ahead of future polls.
