Jaipur Polo Team beat Leopards in Kota Cup opener

Jaipur, Nov 26 (LatestNewsX) – The season’s opening clash saw the Jaipur Polo Team outclass the Leopards, winning 13‑5 in a game that was all about edge‑of‑your‑seat excitement.

From the first break, Jaipur displayed a seamless blend of teamwork, tactical positioning and clinical finishing, keeping the lead firmly in their grip throughout all four chukkers. Their attack proved blisteringly efficient, with a combined 13 goals that showcased the squad’s depth and resolve.

The bulk of Jaipur’s scorers were a lethal pair: HH Maharaja Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur netting four goals and Lance Watson bagging a remarkable seven. Pranav Kapur also chipped in, adding two crucial strikes that helped keep the opposition guessing.

Right from the whistle, Jaipur struck the ball hard, with early runs from Pranav Kapur, Lance Watson and HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh setting the tempo. Although the Leopards fought back, Jaipur finished the first quarter with a clear advantage, signalling their intent for the remainder of the match.

As the game progressed, Lance Watson continued piling on the points. The Leopards rarely found breathing room and managed only a solitary goal, inflating the scoreline to a comfortable 6‑3 midway through the second half.

A tentative rally from the Leopards yielded a lone goal from Th Bhawani Singh Kalvi, but Jaipur’s dominance persisted. Their midfield kept the flow, creating chances that quickly translated into further scores, widening the gap beyond look‑back.

The final chukker saw Jaipur finish with confidence; HH Jaipur and Lance Watson capped off the game, firming up a decisive win and cementing a 13‑5 triumph.

Earlier in the week, Jaipur had already added a fourth trophy to their tally, lifting the Kashmir Challenge Cup after a 9‑5 win over Kanota Polo at the Rajasthan Polo Club. That victory brought Jaipur’s total to four honours in the current Indian Polo Season, leaving plenty of games for the teams to reckon with.

The club’s consistent form has been evident, with recent victories in the Gen Amar Singh Kanota Cup, the Sawai Man Guard Cup and the Chinkara Cup, where they defeated the Mayfair Polo Team, the Kognivera Stallions Polo Team and Carysil Polo respectively.
