Actor Vishal started dubbing for his new Tamil feature Magudam on Friday, a step that also marks his first time directing a film. The dubbing session began with a traditional pooja, and a short clip of Vishal recording his lines quickly circulated on social media, giving fans a behind‑the‑scenes glimpse of the project.
Magudam is already in the post‑production phase while the crew films the climax. Vishal explained that he took on the director’s chair not out of obligation but because he felt a strong responsibility to see the story through. Earlier, the film was headed by well‑known director Ravi Arasu, but creative differences prompted Vishal to step in. Social‑media videos showed him giving instructions to the crew, confirming the leadership change.
Actress Dushara Vijayan, who plays one of the film’s heroines, has finished shooting all her scenes. The production entered its third schedule in Ooty and recently kicked off the final leg in Chennai’s TR Gardens. Vishal, who portrays the lead role alongside Dushara and Anjali, began filming on August 1 under the banner of Super Good Films, produced by veteran filmmaker R B Choudhary. The film was officially launched in July with a grand pooja ceremony.
Magudam is the 99th release from Super Good Films, a studio known for delivering blockbusters and launching new talent in Tamil cinema. The technical team includes acclaimed cinematographer Richard M. Nathan, composer G V Prakash Kumar, editor N B Srikanth, art director Durairaj, and costume designer Vasuki Bhaskar. The film promises strong visuals and a solid musical score, setting the stage for Vishal’s directorial debut while keeping audiences hooked with its star‑studded cast.
