Thudarum director Tharun Moorthy discloses he is now working on a sequel to one of his earlier films

Malayalam filmmaker Tharun Moorthy has exciting news to share this Onam! His recent blockbuster movie, ‘Thudaram’, starring Mohanlal, became a huge hit at the box office. Now, on this festive occasion, Tharun Moorthy revealed that he’s working on a sequel to one of his earlier films.

Tharun also shared that he’s had meaningful discussions and personal experiences that are inspiring him to bring back the story with a sequel. Though nothing is official yet, he feels confident about moving forward.

He reminisced about how Onam once marked a turning point in his career. Tharun explained, “During a past Onam, I was feeling stuck and unsure of my next move. But that year, a new door opened for me. Now, I don’t want that sign to fade away.” He revealed that he has already started writing the second part of one of his films and promised to share updates soon.

‘Thudarum’ was a crime action drama featuring Mohanlal and Shobana. Fans loved this film for several reasons. First, it marked the return of actress Shobana opposite Mohanlal after nearly 19 years, creating great excitement. Their on-screen pairing is considered one of Malayalam cinema’s most beloved.
