A 30‑year‑old woman was seen igniting herself outside a 7‑Eleven in Sun Valley, California, early Tuesday. When firefighters rolled in around 9:50 a.m., the crowd that had gathered was already filming the incident on their phones. The first responders rushed the woman to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, where she is receiving treatment for severe burns. Nobody yet knows what sparked or intensified the fire.
LAPD officials have opened an arson investigation, and the area is under heavy police patrol as investigators piece together the details. The victim’s current status remains undisclosed.
