Jaipur, Dec 11 (LatestNewsX) – The Rajasthan Anti‑Corruption Bureau (ACB) secured another significant win on Thursday when its Special Investigating Unit (SIU) apprehended Shravan Meena, the principal of Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Medical College in Sirohi, while he was caught taking a ₹50,000 bribe.
The operation was carried out under the direct direction of ACB headquarters, continuing its long‑standing effort to root out corruption and promote transparency within public institutions.
ACB Director General Govind Gupta said the SIU had acted on a formal complaint lodged by a contractor who ran the college’s hostel mess. The contractor alleged that Principal Meena had repeatedly demanded a ₹50,000 kick‑back to approve routine bills and renew the existing contract. Facing relentless pressure and intimidation, the contractor had no choice but to seek help from the ACB.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Anil Kayal immediately ordered a verification and the setup of a sting operation. With Additional Superintendent of Police Sandeep Saraswat at the helm, the ACB orchestrated the trap that day. The principal was caught with the cash in hand, accepting the ₹50,000 from the complainant.
All steps were taken following ACB’s established procedures, ensuring the operation’s legality and transparency. Once Meena was taken into custody, Interrogations and further legal processes were overseen by ACB Additional Director General Smita Srivastava.
The Bureau is now preparing to file a formal case under the relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation will examine whether others were involved and whether similar irregularities have arisen in other college contracts or financial dealings.
The ACB reaffirms its resolve to take stern action against corruption at every level and encourages citizens to report any suspicious activities without hesitation.
