PM Modi expresses gratitude as nation, world leaders celebrate his 75th birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 75 on September 17, and the overwhelming love from people across India and world leaders left him deeply touched. In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi shared how the flood of birthday wishes, prayers, and messages has inspired him to keep pushing for a stronger India.

“I’m truly overwhelmed by the countless blessings and affection pouring in from every corner of the country and the world,” PM Modi wrote. He added that this support isn’t just for him—it’s a boost for the shared mission to build a better nation. The Prime Minister highlighted how these gestures show the “inherent goodness” of Indians and fuel nationwide social service efforts that help society thrive and face challenges with hope.

PM Modi also mentioned he couldn’t reply to every message personally, but the warmth has truly moved him. He ended with prayers for everyone’s health and happiness.

To mark the occasion, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its supporters kicked off ‘Sewa Pakhwada’—a two-week drive focused on community service. From blood donation camps and tree-planting initiatives to cleanliness drives, free health check-ups, and handing out aids to the differently-abled, these activities aimed to spread positivity. Food packets reached the needy, while BJP leaders in several states launched special yatras (marches). Prayers echoed in temples, mosques, gurudwaras, and churches, celebrating the day with unity and devotion.

The birthday buzz went global too, with warm greetings from top leaders. Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, UAE President Mohamed Bin Zayed, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, EU President Ursula von der Leyen, Dominican Republic’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, and Guyana’s President Dr Irfaan Ali were among those who sent their best wishes to PM Modi.

This outpouring of support underscores PM Modi’s global influence and the strong bonds India shares worldwide.
