Snapchat sees strong momentum in India’s creator ecosystem

Snapchat is seeing huge growth in India’s creator scene, with users doubling the time they spend watching content on the app over the last two years. This surge shows how well the platform connects with young people in the country, fueled by more engaging posts, a boom in new creations, and a growing group of top creators called Snap stars.
The social media app reports that the number of official Snap stars in India has jumped 1.5 times in that same period, pointing to strong demand for real, creator-driven content. Meanwhile, videos and posts shared on Snapchat’s Spotlight feature from creators and publishers have grown over four times compared to last year, making the app a go-to spot for fresh stories and creativity in India.
This news comes as Snapchat rolls out its Creator Connect program, a series of events across multiple cities aimed at helping Gen Z creators tell better stories. North India plays a big role in the country’s vibrant creator ecosystem, so Delhi served as the latest stop, highlighting the app’s expanding reach nationwide.
“India sits at the heart of our worldwide creator plans—not just as one of our quickest-growing markets, but as a major force in global content on Snapchat,” said Saket Jha Saurabh, Director and Head of Content and AR Partnerships at Snap Inc. “These achievements come from our focused work to create an inclusive space for creators. That’s why we’ve poured resources into programs like Snapchat Creator Connect, taking them beyond big cities and into everyday communities so diverse talents get the tools and chances to shine.”
At the Delhi event, Snapchat gathered top creators, Snap stars, and industry experts. They launched Snap School, a hands-on program for education and mentoring to boost storytelling skills and help creators grow their audiences. The group also talked about ways to make money from content on the platform.
