EAM Jaishankar meets Airbus, IndiGo leadership to boost India-Europe aviation ties

In New Delhi on October 2, India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu sat down for a key meeting with Airbus’s Board of Directors and IndiGo’s top executives. The talks aimed to boost India’s civil aviation sector and strengthen economic links between India and Europe.

The ministers spotlighted India’s big changes in infrastructure, economy, and governance. They pointed out how these shifts create exciting chances for global players in aviation to team up and grow.

Jaishankar shared his thoughts on X, saying he felt pleased to chat with Airbus’s board and IndiGo’s leaders alongside his colleague Naidu. “We had a fruitful discussion on the infrastructure, economic, and governance transformations happening in India, plus the growing India-Europe connections,” he wrote. “These open up real opportunities for the growth of India’s civil aviation sector.”

India’s aviation market is booming right now, with passenger numbers climbing fast and new airports popping up everywhere. That makes it one of the world’s quickest-expanding spots for air travel. Airbus and IndiGo, as major forces in this space, stand ready to drive even more progress.

The conversation also covered tech sharing, joint manufacturing deals, and eco-friendly aviation goals. These align perfectly with India’s drive for self-reliance and sustainable air travel.
