MP gears up for Rs 2.5 lakh crore industrial boom as CM Yadav completes two years in office

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is all‑in on turning big promises into concrete factories in Madhya Pradesh. On Monday in Bhopal, he told state officials to organise a series of big‑ticket groundbreaking ceremonies for industrial projects worth up to ₹2.5 lakh crore by the end of November. The push comes just weeks before the BJP‑led government’s two‑year anniversary in December and signals a shift from pledges to real‑world action.
Yadav reviewed the outcomes from the Global Investors Summit 2025, held in Bhopal last month. The summit brought in investment proposals totalling ₹30.77 lakh crore—well above the ₹26.61 lakh crore originally estimated from MoUs with big firms and public‐sector units such as NTPC. “These deals will rebuild our industrial and infrastructure landscape and drive rapid progress,” the chief minister said, standing beside senior secretaries and policy officers.
The state’s Industry Department alone secured 889 proposals worth ₹12.70 lakh crore. Land has been allotted for 397 projects, and Letters of Intent have been issued for the same number. Investors have inspected 190 projects worth ₹5.13 lakh crore, and talks are ongoing with another 302 firms. Importantly, the administration has completed land acquisition for ₹2.48 lakh crore, a step that could create over 285,000 direct jobs—from factory work to supporting services.
Yadav underlined the need for clear timelines, prioritisation, and better coordination across departments. He also said the government would keep investors “hand‑held” to iron out hurdles, creating a safe, transparent, industry‑friendly environment that boosts employment and GDP.
Specific sectors are getting a boost. Renewable energy, mining, thermal power and biofuel projects are projected to generate 1.73 lakh jobs in total. Biotech emerged as a growth focus, with the CM urging the state to invite major biotech companies to an upcoming Investor Dialogue in Hyderabad to attract R&D investment.
Tourism is also in the spotlight. Yadav called for industry status for tourism projects so they can receive subsidy perks. This follows a wave of ₹4,468 crore worth of hospitality and film‑tourism proposals.
To showcase successes, the chief minister will hold state‑ and division‑level conferences by year‑end, celebrating the 785,000 jobs created through incentive schemes. He wants the stories of self‑reliance and dignity to spread, inspiring MSMEs and skill‑development initiatives.
Madhya Pradesh aims for a $2.1 trillion GDP by 2047 under the NDA’s “double‑engine” plan. Yadav’s November push is designed to turn summit hype into real factories, jobs and sustainable prosperity for the state’s future.
