Terrorists attack Israel posts in Gaza

In Gaza, Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) responded to an attack attempt on Wednesday, saying they neutralised several terrorists. The IDF confirmed no soldiers were hurt and is still searching for other attackers.

The IDF’s post on X (formerly Twitter) read that the troops and the Israeli Air Force struck the intruders in the Gaza City area, “and there were no injuries among IDF troops.” The link to the original tweet is https://x.com/IDF/status/1975948811114610891.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump said he could travel to the Middle East this weekend. His team is working on a captives‑for‑ceasefire deal in Gaza, and he told reporters at the White House that an agreement is “very close.” Trump added that he could leave on Saturday after talks in Egypt. Al Jazeera reported that he spoke with his Middle East negotiators before making the statement.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar criticised a Paris meeting scheduled for Thursday, where European, Arab, and other diplomats will discuss Gaza’s post‑war transition and lasting ceasefire. Saar called the French‑led initiative unnecessary and harmful, saying it was set up mid‑negotiations in Sharm el‑Sheikh to distract from Israel’s needs. He posted his remarks on X, accusing French President Emmanuel Macron of diverting attention from domestic issues at Israel’s expense.
