‘NDA all set for a historic win in Bihar’: BJP

Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters in New Delhi on Monday that the NDA is set for a “decisive, effective, and historic” win in Bihar as the second phase of voting begins on Tuesday.
Prasad said the opposition’s frustration shows it is ready to accept defeat. He criticised Tejashwi Yadav, who held a press conference after the campaign period, saying the silence that followed was a clear sign of concession.
“The RJD leader hasn’t done his homework,” Prasad noted, pointing out that Bihar now hosts 17 new ethanol plants, several textile parks, and a booming biscuit industry. “MoUs worth ₹1.18 lakh crore have been signed, and the state is free from the atmosphere of terror,” he added.
He credited the NDA’s two‑decade success to the public’s trust, highlighting the massive turnouts at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s roadshows. According to Prasad, the election pits “jungle raj and good governance,” and he accused Tejashwi Yadav of continuing his father Lalu Prasad Yadav’s legacy of corruption and lawlessness.
Prasad also took aim at Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, calling him a “political tourist” who goes on “safaris” instead of campaigning. When asked about police deployment in BJP‑ruled states, he clarified that the Election Commission, not political parties, decides forces placement.
He urged voters and the media to wait for official turnout data from the Election Commission before drawing conclusions.
