The Indian Army’s Spear Corps, part of the Eastern Command, just wrapped up Exercise Drone Kavach in the rugged forward areas of Eastern Arunachal Pradesh. This four-day event, held from September 25 to 28, highlighted the army’s sharp combat readiness for modern drone warfare and tested cutting-edge drone technologies along with counter-drone systems.
Troops from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), stationed in these remote spots, joined in to make the drills even more realistic. Teams ran through a range of tactical moves and simulated combat scenarios, preparing for battles across multiple domains packed with high-tech gear. They practiced key skills like spotting targets, using active and passive defenses against drones, and taking them out with pinpoint accuracy—all under tough, make-believe conditions.
The exercise also broke in new unit-level teams, helping them refine tactics that fit the army’s bigger strategy and daily missions. Overall, it gave the Indian Army fresh insights into tomorrow’s battlefields, building their edge in winning drone fights.
This push shows the Indian Army’s strong drive to modernize and soak up new tech for top-notch operations in Arunachal Pradesh’s challenging terrain.
Just a bit earlier, on September 19, brave soldiers from the Spear Corps conquered Mount Gorichen, the highest climbable peak in Arunachal Pradesh at 6,488 meters. This epic feat proves their grit, stamina, and team spirit in the harsh Eastern Himalayas, where icy winds, steep ridges, and thin oxygen test every step.
The climb aimed to build adventure skills, boost resilience, and protect the area’s natural beauty. Despite the brutal conditions, the group pulled together with fierce determination, reaching the “Roof of Arunachal” in a big win for the team.
