8.5 lakh youths given govt jobs in Uttar Pradesh in 8 years: CM Yogi Adityanath

New Delhi, Dec 7 (LatestNewsX) – Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that, over the last eight years, more than 8.5 lakh young people have landed government jobs. He added that the BJP administration has simultaneously trained 12 lakh youth, equipping them with skills that make them ready for the workforce.

“In the last eight years, the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission has trained over 12 lakh people. Of these, more than 6 lakh youth have been matched directly with jobs. This blend of talent and training is helping realise the vision of “Self‑reliant Uttar Pradesh,”” he explained.

“Through a fair and transparent process, state commissions and recruitment boards have also placed over 8.5 lakh young people in government roles. To digitally empower the talented youth of Uttar Pradesh, they are being connected through the “Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme,”” the Chief Minister tweeted on X.

The CM noted that under this scheme, students pursuing various levels of education and training—such as graduation, post‑graduation, diploma, skill development, and paramedical courses—are receiving tablets and smartphones.

The scheme aims to benefit two crore youths in the state. To date, 22.80 lakh tablets and 37.25 lakh smartphones—totaling 60.05 lakh devices—have been distributed, he added.

A post from the Chief Minister’s Office said, “Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji Maharaj, the “Chief Minister Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign” is emerging as a powerful platform for self‑employment for the youth of the state.”

This campaign not only helps young people secure employment but also enables them to create jobs. Under the scheme, the government offers interest‑free loans of up to Rs 5 lakh, allowing beneficiaries to realise their dreams while generating employment opportunities for others, the post added.

“The scheme has brought Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of “self‑reliant youth” to life at the ground level. So far, more than 68,000 youths in the state have received Rs 2,751 crore,” the post read.

Guided by the Prime Minister, the BJP’s dual‑engine government has resolved to create 1 lakh new young entrepreneurs in the state. To ensure employment for the state’s youth both domestically and abroad, the Uttar Pradesh Employment Mission has been set up, it said.

Within the state, a new initiative called “AI Pragya” has also been launched. It is part of a larger drive to train 1 lakh youths in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related high‑tech areas such as machine learning, data analytics and cyber‑security, with certificates that will open up further employment possibilities, the social media post noted.
