Siddharth Yadav, the popular YouTuber who goes by Elvish Yadav, and singer‑rapper Rahul Yadav, known as Fazilpuria, have been thrust into legal trouble after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a charge‑sheet against them on Oct. 13. The case ties the two to a money‑laundering scheme that also involves the illegal use of protected wildlife in their online videos.
The charge‑sheet was submitted to a special court in Gurugram that handles PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) matters. It names four accused: Elvish Yadav (28), Fazilpuria (35), the content‑management firm Sky Digital India Pvt. Ltd., and its director Gurkaran Singh Dhaliwal. The court has not yet formally accepted the complaint.
According to the ED, Elvish earned ₹84,000 from a YouTube video posted on 23 March 2023. The clip, titled “Fazilpuria Bhai Ke Shoot Pe Russian Se Mulakat Ho Hi Gayi @fazilpuria,” featured live snakes and an iguana—animals protected under India’s Wildlife Protection Act. The video is alleged to be a violation of wildlife law.
Fazilpuria is accused of making the music video “32 BORE,” which also showcased protected reptiles. The ED claims he made more than ₹5 million (₹50 lakh) from that video. Sky Digital India, the company that managed Fazilpuria’s content and handled its monetisation, is said to have helped create the revenue stream.
During the investigation, the ED temporarily seized a ₹50 lakh property belonging to Fazilpuria in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, and a fixed deposit of ₹84,000 linked to Elvish. Both figures were questioned by the ED at its Lucknow office.
The case originated from police FIRs in Noida and Gurugram. Elvish had earlier been arrested by Noida police when the investigation first opened.
The ED’s allegations combine breaches of the PMLA, the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, the Wildlife Protection Act, and the Indian Penal Code. If convicted, Elvish Yadav, who first rose to fame by winning Bigg Boss OTT 2, could find his online stardom eclipsed by serious legal consequences.
