Rajasthan BJP chief promotes Khadi, local products

Rajasthan BJP chief Madan Rathore hit the ground running in Sikar and Bikaner this week, boosting the party’s “Vocal for Local” campaign and connecting with local workers on key issues.
In Sikar, Rathore kicked off a Khadi exhibition on Wednesday, taking a close look at the handmade garments and even buying one with a digital payment to push for cashless transactions. With Gandhi Jayanti coming up on October 2, he highlighted khadi’s roots as a symbol of self-reliance, championed by Mahatma Gandhi and now revived under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Seva Pakhwada drive.
“October 2 marks the birth anniversaries of both Mahatma Gandhi and former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri,” Rathore said. “The Seva Pakhwada, which started on PM Modi’s birthday, spotlights local products and the essence of service. Like Gandhiji, Modiji urges everyone to wear khadi and back our homegrown industries.”
Following BJP’s national guidelines, Rathore stressed the focus on cleanliness drives, strategy sessions, and community service during the campaign.
He took a light-hearted jab at Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra on his birthday, saying, “I wish him a long life and pray he gains some wisdom. It’s fine if he stays as he is, but a bit more insight wouldn’t hurt.”
Rathore also fired back at Dotasra’s recent digs on the government’s teacher transfer policy. “It’s funny that Dotasra’s questioning things now,” he remarked. “Back when he was Education Minister, teachers told the then Chief Minister straight up that bribes were paid for transfers.”
Earlier in Bikaner, Rathore opened the new office for MLA Jethanand Vyas. He then headed to Sikar to visit the ashram of former MP Sumedhanand Saraswati, where he extended birthday wishes and joined a local event.
At the BJP district office in Sikar, Rathore met with leaders like Dinesh Dhabai, Manoj Batad, Hariram Ranwan, Shravan Chaudhary, and Rajesh Rollan to chat about party organization and upcoming plans.
