On December 1 in Ahmedabad, the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) returned to the city after the Bharath Classic. Long‑time fixtures Gaganjeet Bhullar and Karandeep Kochhar came back to chase more victories. They are joined by the top spot in the IGPL Order of Merit, Aman Raj, Pune winner Kapil Kumar, Jamshedpur champion Pukhraj Singh Gill, and Sachin Baisoya, who finished third in the co‑sanctioned Bharath Classic.
Bhullar has already taken the titles in Chandigarh and at Jaypee Greens, while Kochhar is still hunting his first triumph. He previously captured a win on the Asian Development Tour in Egypt and secured fifth place in that tour’s Order of Merit, which guarantees him a spot on the main Asian Tour for 2026.
The event carries a purse of ₹1.5 crore, with the champion earning ₹22.5 lakh. Aman Raj remains the current Order of Merit leader. This contest marks the ninth round of the IGPL calendar, with the final two stops slated for Dubai and Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Bhullar, who had been competing on the International Series and juggling personal matters, already claimed the initial two legs of the IGPL. After him, Kapil Kumar took Pune and Gill seized Jamshedpur, setting poised performances for the upcoming tournament at Glade One Golf Resort and Club.
The field also features Olympians Udayan Mane and SSP Chawrasia, Asian Tour winner Chiragh Kumar, and international players from the Philippines (Justin Quiban) and Mexico (Santiago De La Fuentes). Two American players of Indian descent—Varun Chopra and Manav Shah—round out the lineup.
Rising talents Kartik Singh and Veer Ganapathy, who have been trying to find their footing early in the season, are expected to rebalance their game in this week’s event. Although Pranavi Urs—who made headlines as the first woman pro to win a mixed‑field event in India—did not enter the women’s field, competitors Ridhima Dilawari and Jasmine Shekar, among others, will vie for the title.
