I am good at solving wars: Trump says he will resolve Afghanistan-Pakistan conflict

Washington – U.S. President Donald Trump announced today that he wants to step in as a mediator over the border dispute between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Speaking to reporters on the way to Egypt for a summit on the Gaza peace process, Trump said he could bring an end to the conflict, claiming it would be “the eighth war I have solved.”

In the same interview, Trump listed a number of international disputes he said he had helped resolve during his time in office. He cited conflicts that had lasted decades—such as those involving India and Pakistan—and said he had guided those wars to a swift conclusion “within a day.” Trump framed the upcoming Egypt summit as a continuation of his “war‑solving” record, noting it would close the two‑year‑old standoff in the Middle East.

Trump also referenced the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machá, saying he did not receive the honor for the prize itself but for “saving lives.” He added that Machá had called him to thank him for his support.

Other disputes Trump mentioned include the Armenia‑Azerbaijan conflict, tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, the Israel‑Iran standoff, clashes in Egypt and Ethiopia, and the war in Rwanda–Congo. Trump’s assurance that he can settle these disputes again has been repeated during his recent trips to Egypt.
