London’s Uttar Pradesh community turned out in force to cheer on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s push for a developed India by 2047. At an energetic event in Slough, they rallied behind the new Viksit UP 2047 initiative, which ties into Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat vision. The gathering at The Curve Slough Hall buzzed with excitement as attendees dove into the campaign’s goals, according to an official update.
Ravindra Jaiswal, Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of State for Stamps and Registration, took the stage to spotlight the big changes sweeping the state and its clear path to growth by 2047. In chats with the crowd, he picked up on their eagerness to share ideas and experiences to build a stronger Uttar Pradesh.
Dr. Ajay Singh, chair of UPDF-UK, shared that folks from the UP diaspora want to spread the word further. They’re eyeing expansions to cities like Cambridge and Swindon, home to large UP groups, for more input. Sandeep Singh spoke up for Cambridge, while Ritesh pushed for Swindon.
Local UP natives in London—Dr. Ajay Singh, Ashish Mishra, and Madhuresh Mishra—pulled off the Viksit UP launch and logo reveal. UPDF Global Chairman Pankaj Jaiswal leads the wider effort across England, aiming to collect as many suggestions as possible from the diaspora by October 5. The minister, Dr. Ajay Singh, Madhuresh, Ashish, and Ritesh unveiled the Viksit UP@2047 logo amid applause.
Dr. Ajay Singh added that they expect thousands of ideas from the UK UP community. “The diaspora here is fired up to join in and help grow the state under Yogi Adityanath’s leadership,” he said.
Pankaj Jaiswal noted that similar events are popping up worldwide, from Dubai and the Netherlands to the USA, to link with the global UP diaspora and advance the dream of a thriving Uttar Pradesh.
The night also featured book launches by Ashish Mishra and Padmesh Gupta, drawing cheers from the packed house.
Notable guests included former UK MP Virendra Sharma, Slough Mayor Siobhan Dauti, spiritual leader Abhiramacharya Ji Maharaj, Anuradha Pandey from the Indian High Commission, Surya Didi of Brahmrishi Ashram in London, Deputy Mayor Neel Rana, Tushar Kumar, and councillors Dhruv Tomar, Parveen Rani, and Chandra Muvalla. UP diaspora members like Madhuresh Mishra, Manoj Mishra, Santosh Pandey, Rajesh Vishwakarma, Rajeev Aggrawal, and Gyan Sharma added to the vibrant mix.
