Kyle Rittenhouse, the gun‑rights proponent who rose to national attention after the 2020 Kenosha shooting, surprised many by returning to social media on Wednesday. There he revealed that he’s now married. The 22‑year‑old posted on X, “I’m back on social media, I’m back in the fight, and i’m here to stay,” and accompanied the claim with two photos of him and his bride, Bella—one showing his new wife holding an AR‑15.
He followed the image with another tweet: “For a quick update, 6 months ago I made the best decision of my life and married my best friend. @BellRittenhouse, I couldn’t be happier. I love you beautiful.”
Rittenhouse’s legal saga began when police shot Jacob Blake during protests, sparking rioting in Kenosha. While only 17, the teen entered the city carrying a semi‑automatic rifle and a medical kit, saying he intended to safeguard local businesses amid the unrest. Prosecutors charged him with homicide, attempted homicide, and reckless endangerment after the August 25, 2020 incident. In November 2021, a jury found him not guilty on all counts, citing a self‑defense defense after witnesses claimed the three victims attacked him.
Since that day, Rittenhouse has been a vocal opponent of new gun‑control measures, especially “red flag” laws that would allow firearms to be seized from people deemed a danger to themselves or others. In a later X post he declared, “I support the Second Amendment because without it, I might not be here today…If you believe we must defend the Second Amendment with everything we’ve got, follow me.” He framed his defense during the Kenosha confrontation as an exercise of the rights that, according to his view, were protected by the Founders and upheld by the trial jury.
