On December 8 in Mumbai, LatestNewsX reported that Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor lauded Rashmika Mandanna’s new film, “The Girlfriend,” calling it a “mandatory watch.”
Janhvi shared a story on Instagram that highlighted a pivotal moment from the movie, captioning it with the hashtag and phrase “#TheGirlfriend. Mandatory Watch.”
The 2025 Telugu romantic drama was directed by Rahul Ravindran and features Rashmika Mandanna, Dheekshith Shetty, and Anu Emmanuel. It follows Bhooma, a college‑going young woman who navigates love, compatibility, and self‑discovery as she encounters the ups and downs of relationships.
After appearing in the romantic comedy “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,” written and directed by Shashank Khaitan, Janhvi worked alongside Varun Dhawan, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, and Akshay Oberoi. The story centers on Ananya and Vikram, who are heartbroken when their partners leave them for one another; Sunny and Tulsi then team up to disrupt the wedding of their former lovers.
Janhvi is next set to play Achiyyamma in Ram Charan’s upcoming film “Peddi.” Last month, her makers released two striking posters that portray her fierce and fearless persona—one shows her standing on a jeep with her hands over her head, while the other depicts her with her left hand placed on her head.
“Peddi” is scheduled to hit theaters on March 27, 2026, coinciding with Ram Charan’s birthday. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas and proudly presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, the project is set to launch as a grand Pan‑India release. The film’s production team previously staged an extravagant song featuring 1,000 dancers on Vinayaka Chavithi, choreographed by Jani Master in Mysore—a highlight of Ram Charan’s past works. Supporting roles include Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, along with Jagapathi Babu and Divyendu Sharma in key positions.
