Union Home Minister Amit Shah dove into the festive spirit on Tuesday night, joining the lively Kesariya Garba Navratri celebration at Ram Katha Ground in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This fun event came right after Shah spent Monday evening dancing at Garba gatherings organized by local communities in Ahmedabad.
Shah shared some vibrant photos from the celebrations on social media platform X, where he talked about his devotion to the Goddess. “On this auspicious Navratri occasion, I took part in the Navratri Garba festival at Vrajdham Apartment and Orchid Legacy in Ahmedabad’s Sarkhej Ward and received the blessings of Mother Goddess,” he posted. He highlighted the spiritual vibe of the festival and the warm community energy that makes these events so special.
Navratri, or Sharadiya Navratri, lights up homes and streets across India, but it really shines in Gujarat with its colorful Garba dances and Dandiya Raas performances. This nine-night Hindu festival, celebrated in the lunar month of Ashwin, honors Goddess Durga and her nine powerful forms, each representing strength, wisdom, and kindness. Devotees fast, pray, sing bhajans, and gather in huge crowds for these joyful traditions that draw thousands every year.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent warm Navratri wishes on the festival’s second day, dedicated to Maa Brahmacharini. He offered prayers and shared a post on X: “On this Navratri, today, millions of salutations at the feet of Maa Brahmacharini! May the Goddess Mother bless all her devotees with courage and restraint.” Modi also included a beautiful Devi Stuti hymn to inspire everyone celebrating.
