Nitish targets opposition at Muzaffarpur rally; Tejashwi questions his health after a viral video

Patna, Oct 21 – During a campaign rally in Minapur, Muzaffarpur, Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar spoke directly to a packed crowd about his government’s record as the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections draw near. He used the event to spotlight the state’s progress and to criticize opposition parties.
Kumar reminded voters that when his party first took office, law and order in Bihar improved dramatically. “People who once feared leaving their homes after dark now say peace and harmony prevail,” he said. He recalled how earlier governments let communal tensions and temple thefts rise, but now such incidents are scarce.
The chief minister highlighted the administration’s job‑creation efforts, claiming that over 40 lakh jobs have already been created and that the government aims to add 1 crore new jobs in the next five years. “Education, healthcare, roads and infrastructure are improving. Every village now has better roads, hospitals are upgraded, and young people find more opportunities,” he added.
In his remarks, Kumar attacked the opposition for allegedly doing little for the people during their tenure, saying they only cared about voters when elections came. The crowd cheered in support, giving him loud applause that he said reflected popular approval of the government’s work.
A dramatic moment at the rally attracted attention: while garlanding party candidates, a senior JD(U) leader stopped Kumar from putting a garland on a female candidate. The chief minister, visibly upset, said, “He is an amazing man; holds his hands,” then garlanded the woman himself. A video of the exchange quickly spread online.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav shared the clip on his official channel, questioning the champion’s health and demanding he stop “reading from a scripted speech.” The comment added to the growing political feud between the ruling JD(U) and the opposition RJD.
The rally underscored the key themes of the 2025 Bihar Assembly race: development, job creation, and public safety, as the state edges closer to the election day.
