India Red and India Orange have made it to the final of the exciting NTT DATA Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind 2025. Held in Bengaluru, this tournament is organized by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) along with the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled. It’s not just about cricket — this event helps identify the top 16 women cricketers who will represent India at the upcoming Women’s T20 Blind World Cup in November. The matches will be played across New Delhi, Kathmandu, and Bengaluru.
On Day 3, the action was thrilling. India Red beat India Yellow in a close contest. India Red’s captain, Deepika T.C., scored 62 runs off 55 balls and was named Player of the Match, helping her team chase down a target of 134. Anekha Thakur also played a great innings with 47 runs off 40 balls.
In another exciting match, India Orange scored a big 206/3 thanks to an impressive partnership. Simu Das scored a remarkable 114 runs off 72 balls, and captain Ganga Kadam contributed 55 runs off 47 balls. However, rain interrupted India Blue’s response when they reached 23/1, and the match was declared abandoned — meaning India Orange is now unbeaten and heading straight to the finals.
India Orange has won all three of their games so far, showing they are strong contenders. Meanwhile, India Red has only one loss in the tournament, to India Orange, during the lead-up matches.
This tournament isn’t just about cricket — it’s about empowerment. Besides playing the sport, women cricketers receive training in life skills, digital literacy, and financial knowledge. Players also get stipends and support for higher education, helping them grow both on and off the field.
The grand final is scheduled for Thursday, featuring India Red versus India Orange. Both teams will battle it out for the trophy and to showcase their cricket talent. This event, backed by NTT DATA, aims to inspire and empower women with disabilities, giving them opportunities and support for the future.
Earlier matches saw some exciting moments despite rain delays. On the second day, India Yellow posted 141/5 with Shivani smashing 56 runs off just 35 balls. India Blue fought back with good performances from Saloni and Annu Sharma, scoring 130 but falling short by 11 runs; Shivani was named Player of the Match.
In another match, India Orange bowled out India Red for 112 and comfortably chased the target with Basanti Hansda scoring an excellent 59 not out and Muskan Gochar adding 35*. India Orange won easily with a 10-wicket victory and took the Player of the Match award.
This tournament is more than just cricket — it’s about building confidence, skills, and futures for women with visual impairments. With support from NTT DATA, many players are gaining the tools they need to succeed both on and off the field.
