Vishal Jethwa on meeting Martin Scorsese: His personality was very calm, quiet

Mumbai – Mumbai actor Vishal Jethwa said meeting Hollywood legend Martin Scorsese during the U.S. campaign for India’s debut at the 97th Academy Awards was the biggest highlight of his career.
The encounter happened at an exclusive screening of the film “Homebound” in New York, where Scorsese also served as executive producer.

“I was thrilled when we learned we’d be meeting the legend,” Jethwa told . “It felt surreal to get so many key moments for my career from one film.”

Jethwa described Scorsese as “very calm and quiet” but also full of jokes, sharing stories about his movies and life. The actor said the director’s friendly tone helped ease his nerves.

He captured the moment by asking the veteran filmmaker to do a “Namaste” before taking a picture. “It was amazing to see him smile and say hi,” Jethwa said.

On social media, Jethwa posted the photo and wrote, “The living legend, Martin Scorsese, greeted me with a Namaste! I still can’t believe this picture is real. I’ll never forget this day – from the nervousness to the joy of knowing he liked our work.”

The meeting underscored the growing international recognition of “Homebound,” an Indian film that has attracted Academy Awards attention and spotlight from Hollywood’s most respected directors.
