Haridwar Police stepped up their hunt for Khalid, the key suspect in the UKSSSC exam scam in Uttarakhand, with a series of coordinated raids on Tuesday. They teamed up with the revenue department, electricity officials, and the local Nagar Panchayat to search multiple spots across the area.
In one big find, officers uncovered an illegal electricity hookup at Khalid’s home. They quickly filed a case against his father under Section 135 of the Electricity Act for the unauthorized connection.
Haridwar Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Singh Dobal told reporters that raid teams are hitting several locations right now to nab Khalid. During the probe, police detained Khalid’s sister and turned her over to Dehradun authorities for further questioning.
Dobal added that they’re gathering strong evidence against Khalid and his network of associates. “We’re confident we’ll arrest him soon,” he said, as the UKSSSC exam scam investigation heats up in Uttarakhand.
This crackdown comes amid fresh promises from Uttarakhand’s government to crack down hard on exam cheating. Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli earlier stressed that officials will hit those involved with the toughest penalties possible. “This marks the first big case under our new anti-cheating law,” Bagoli noted. “It’ll send a clear message to anyone thinking of pulling off scams like this.”
UKSSSC Chairman Ganesh Singh Martolia called the whole thing a shady plot to favor one individual. He raised key questions about how someone managed to snap photos of the exam questions in a center equipped with signal jammers. “We’re digging into that right now,” Martolia said. “Once we grab the main accused like Khalid, the full picture will come out. No one involved will escape strict action in this Uttarakhand exam fraud.”
