Bomb threat to Delhi CM Secretariat, Maulana Azad Medical College; premises being scanned

Panic in Delhi: Bomb Threat Hits CM Secretariat and Maulana Azad Medical College

Hey folks, imagine the chaos when a scary bomb threat call shakes up two major spots in Delhi— the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and the famous Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC). This happened on Tuesday morning, September 9, sending everyone into high alert mode. The threat warned of explosions at MAMC at 2:45 p.m. and the CM Secretariat at 3:30 p.m., sparking widespread panic.

Security teams jumped into action right away. Bomb disposal squads rushed to both locations for a full sweep and scan of the areas. A police statement shared that Bomb Detection and Disposal Teams (BDDS/BDT) are carrying out detailed checks at MAMC and the Secretariat to make sure everything’s safe.

Vigil has ramped up big time around MAMC, with security forces, including bomb squads, combing through the entire campus inside and out. Delhi Police suspects this could be another hoax, just like the string of fake bomb threats that hit the city in recent days. Still, they’re not taking any chances and have deployed extra forces at these key Delhi spots.

An additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), along with Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and other officers, is personally overseeing the search at the CM Secretariat. At MAMC, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) from IP Estate is leading the investigation. The Cyber Cell has also joined in to trace the source of this threatening email and check if it’s real.

Authorities have alerted other units too, like the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Traffic Police, and the Special Cell, to handle any surprises. This latest bomb threat to Maulana Azad Medical College follows a pattern seen last month, when multiple Delhi schools and colleges got similar warnings—all turned out to be hoaxes.

Remember August 28? At least 20 Delhi colleges went into lockdown after bomb threat emails, forcing evacuations and sniffer dog searches. Then on August 21, six schools faced the same scare. In every case, the Delhi Police cleared the premises, but nothing dangerous was found. These repeated hoax bomb threats in Delhi have authorities on edge, pushing for stricter measures to catch the culprits behind these fake alerts.

As the searches continue, we’ll keep you updated on any new developments in this Delhi bomb threat story. Stay safe out there!
