She made the remarks while appearing on CBS News’s “Face the Nation.” Having arrived in the United States as a first‑generation Somali immigrant, Omar was reacting to a recent X post by Miller, who is widely regarded as the architect of President Trump’s immigration policies. In the tweet, Miller warned that mass migration brings more than individuals into a new country; it imports entire societies, and at scale, the descendants of those migrants can recreate the same conditions and fears that existed in their faltering homelands.
