Mammootty resumes shoot after short break, set to join Mohanlal starrer schedule in Hyderabad

Malayalam superstar Mammootty is diving back into work with his signature energy. After a short break, the actor shared a fresh update on Instagram, showing off a casual pose next to his car. Dressed in an orange shirt, white trousers, and black shoes, he looks healthy and ready to roll.
In the caption, Mammootty wrote, “Back to doing what I love most in life after a short break. Words aren’t enough to thank everyone who checked on me during my absence. The camera is calling.” Fans flooded the comments with excitement, sharing their joy and eagerness for his upcoming projects.
Mammootty has already landed in Hyderabad to kick off filming for his next movie. He even met up with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap during the trip.
Producer Anto Joseph added more details on Instagram, posting about Mammootty’s return. “Dear Mammookka is coming… To continue acting in the movie directed by Mahesh Narayanan from October 1st. It was just a short break. I think it was all this time. The break that came unexpectedly was survived by the power of the prayers and presence of people all over the world. Mammookka will join the Hyderabad schedule. Heartfelt thanks and love to those who came in prayers, and those who helped when I was troubled,” Joseph shared.
This update comes amid earlier reports that Mammootty faced some health challenges, sparking concern among his global fanbase.
The film brings Mammootty together with longtime friend and fellow superstar Mohanlal for the first time in years—a reunion that’s got everyone buzzing. South Indian star Nayanthara joins the cast too. Back in July, Anto Joseph Film Company’s social media confirmed Nayanthara’s arrival on set, building even more hype.
Mahesh Narayanan directs this untitled project, which is deep into production. So far, the team hasn’t revealed plot details or a release date, but it’s shaping up as a major Malayalam cinema event.
