Ten injured as house collapses in Indore, rescue operations underway

At least ten people, including two children and eight adults, suffered injuries when a two-storey building collapsed in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, late Monday night. The incident happened behind Premsukh Talkies on Jawahar Marg, catching residents and officials off guard.

Emergency teams rushed to the scene and pulled out all the injured victims, who are now receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. Rescue operations continue as authorities fear more people could be trapped under the rubble. Indore Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh explained that the building housed shops on the ground floor and living spaces upstairs. “About 40-45% of the two-story structure came down,” he said. “We’ve rescued ten people so far and sent them to the hospital. Our teams are still searching, and there’s a chance others remain buried.”

Indore Collector Shivam Verma, leading the response, shared that around 13 people were inside the building when it fell. “Ten have been safely extracted and are getting medical care,” Verma noted. “The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and municipal teams are working hard to reach the remaining three. We’re monitoring everything closely, with medical staff on hand.” He added that the building is about eight years old, but the top priority right now is saving lives and providing support—no word yet on what caused the Indore house collapse.

SDRF units, Indore Municipal Corporation workers, and other first responders are on site with heavy equipment, clearing debris and hunting for survivors in this Madhya Pradesh building collapse. Officials promise more updates as the rescue in Indore progresses and new details come to light. The cause of the collapse remains under investigation.
