Gujarat: A giant poster and huge Tricolour to celebrate PM Modi’s birthday in Surat

PM Modi’s 75th Birthday Celebrations Light Up Surat with Giant Poster and Massive Tricolour

In Surat, the city buzzed with excitement as people celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday in style. At the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, a huge poster of the PM stood tall alongside a giant Tricolour flag, drawing crowds of well-wishers and fans. The highlight? A ceremonial cake-cutting with a whopping 75-inch cake that added a sweet touch to the vibrant event.

Local artist Praveen Gupta poured his heart into creating the massive poster on fabric. It took him over 10 days of hard work, and a team of 54 people needed to unfold the 250 kg masterpiece. "We wanted to make this birthday special for our beloved Prime Minister," Gupta told . "This poster is the result of more than 15 days of effort. Happy birthday, PM Modi!"

Next to the poster, a 30×20 ft Tricolour flag waved proudly. Organizers plan to keep it up during the upcoming India-Sri Lanka women’s cricket tournament at the stadium, blending birthday cheers with sports spirit.

Spectators couldn’t hide their joy. Manasi Ghosh, who joined the crowd, said, "It’s amazing to see such a huge flag for PM Modi’s 75th birthday. I wish him a long and healthy life!" DSK Rathi, General Secretary of the Surat District Cricket Association, added, "We’ve put together this grand celebration with full enthusiasm. I hope PM Modi keeps leading India with his dynamic energy for years to come."

The festivities didn’t stop there. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) kicked off "Sewa Pakhwada," a two-week nationwide campaign from September 17 to October 2. Focused on public welfare, it features blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, the fun ‘NaMo Yuva Run,’ and new launches like the ‘Suman Sakhi’ chatbot and ‘Ek Bagicha Maa Ke Naam’ tree plantation drive. These initiatives highlight PM Modi’s vision for service and community upliftment.

Born on September 17, 1950, in Gujarat’s Mehsana district, Narendra Modi grew up in humble surroundings. At just 17, he left home to travel across India, seeking a deeper purpose. He later joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a key socio-cultural organization, where his days started at 5 am and stretched late into the night. Young Modi also jumped into the fight against the Emergency, drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s ideas on spirituality and selfless service.

From those early days, Modi climbed the ranks to become Gujarat’s Chief Minister from 2001 to 2014. Since 2014, he’s served as India’s Prime Minister, now in his third straight term, steering the nation with bold leadership and a focus on development. Surat’s grand tribute truly captures the admiration for this inspiring journey.
