Deol family & Hema Malini host separate prayer meetings for late Dharmendra on the same day
Mumbai, Nov. 27 – In an unexpected move, two prayer gatherings were organized on the same day to honor the late Dharmendra. The first meeting was arranged by his first wife Prakash Kaur along with sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, while the second took place at Hema Malini’s bungalow, hosted by her and their daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. Sunny and Bobby held their service at a different Mumbai venue.
Friends and well‑wishes, such as Sunita Ahuja and her son Yashvardhan, attended Hema Malini’s home for the ceremony, and actress Madhoo was also present to pay respects. Meanwhile, the gathering hosted by Sunny and Bobby drew celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sidharth Malhotra, Abhay Deol, Aryan Khan, and others.
For those unfamiliar, Dharmendra would have celebrated his 90th birthday on Dec. 8. He passed away at 89 after a brief battle with breathing difficulties that required ventilator support. He was briefly in the hospital before returning home for treatment.
He is survived by his first wife, Prakash Kaur, and their four children—Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Ajeta, and Vijayta—alongside second wife and Bollywood star Hema Malini and their daughters Esha and Ahana.
Earlier today, Hema Malini posted a heartfelt farewell note on social media and shared photos of her with Dharmendra and their daughters, recalling happy times together.
