Rajasthan: Drugs valued at Rs 50 crore seized at MDMA factory, one arrested

Rajasthan Police Busts Illegal MD Drug Factory in Major Raid

In a big win against drug trafficking, Rajasthan’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) teamed up with local police to shut down an illegal MD drug manufacturing unit in Pratapgarh. This crackdown happened in Tanda Bada, near Sarhad Bori Mojal, and it’s a huge blow to the growing MDMA drug network in the region.

The raid led to the arrest of Jamshed alias Jammu Lala, a 33-year-old wanted smuggler from Dewaldi village. He had a Rs 25,000 reward on his head, and police caught him right at the spot. Jammu Lala was hiding out in a hut owned by Ishwar Meena, where he was secretly producing the drugs.

During the operation, cops seized a whopping 17.4 kg of MD powder, valued at around Rs 50 crore in the international black market. They also grabbed over 70 kg of chemicals and all the equipment needed to make MD drugs, like mixing tools and containers. This haul could have flooded streets with dangerous narcotics, but the quick action stopped it in its tracks.

The raid was planned under the guidance of ADG Crime Dinesh MN, with oversight from DIG Deepak Bhargava and Additional SPs Asha Ram Chaudhary and Siddhant Sharma. On the ground, Pratapgarh SP B. Aditya led the team. Key players from AGTF, including Head Constable Mahavir Singh and Constable Narendra Patidar, got the tip-off after days of secret surveillance. They worked with Pipalkhunt police station and the District Special Team (DST) to storm the hideout and nab the suspect under the NDPS Act.

This isn’t the first time police have hit this drug gang hard. Back on December 16, 2024, AGTF and Arnod police raided Dewaldi village and recovered 11.450 kg of liquid MDMA worth Rs 40 crore, plus 14.770 kg of chemicals and more drug-making gear. That time, Jammu Lala, along with Yakub and Sahil, managed to escape, which is why the reward was announced.

Digging deeper, investigations uncovered how the gang was laundering drug money. Main accused Yakub Khan had used the cash to buy a hotel and lodge in Hussain Tekri, Javra (Madhya Pradesh), in his wife’s name back in 2024. The property is worth about Rs 1 crore. On August 28, 2025, Pratapgarh police froze it under Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act to cut off their funding.

The success of these operations shows Rajasthan police’s strong push against MD drug smuggling and illegal drug manufacturing. Teams like AGTF’s Mahavir Singh and Narendra Patidar, DST in-charge SI Ravindra Patidar, SI Pannalal, ASI Pratap Singh, and constables Vinod, Narendra Singh, Pankaj, Ramesh Chand, Hemendra Singh, Sandeep, and Arvind Singh, plus SHO Pipalkhunt Naresh Patidar and his squad, deserve credit for their sharp work.

With drug networks trying to expand in Rajasthan, actions like this raid on the MD drug factory are vital to keep communities safe. Stay tuned for more updates on the ongoing probe into this smuggling ring.
