Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev has been hit with a flood of hate messages and threats from Turkish phone numbers after hackers leaked her personal mobile number. This cyberattack also exposed the contact details of other top Israeli government officials.
The disturbing messages pouring into Regev’s phone included shocking lines like “Hitler was right. He should have killed you all,” “We will bury you and your country,” and “I am Turkish. I will send you to hell.” Hundreds of these threats have swamped her inbox since the leak.
Even Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz faced similar harassment. On Wednesday, he fired back on X (formerly Twitter), saying: “Let them continue to call and threaten, and I will continue to order the extermination of their members, the leaders of terrorism.”
This incident highlights the rising dangers of cyberattacks and leaked personal data targeting Israeli officials. Turkish hackers claimed responsibility for the breach, sparking concerns over online threats and international tensions. Authorities are now investigating to track down the culprits and bolster security for government figures.
