The Indian film “Vilaayath Buddha” has just cleared the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A 16+ rating, which means viewers 16 and older may watch the movie with a parent or guardian. The certification was announced on social media by lead actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who confirmed that the film will open in theatres on November 21.
Prithviraj’s character, “Double Mohan”, is a sharp‑witted smuggler who earns the nickname “Kutty Veerappan” – “Little Veerappan” – for his daring operations. In the teaser, two police officers discuss Double’s reputation as the main driver of sandalwood trafficking, while the film shows Mohan bragging that he “is local, the rest are international.” The teaser also hints at a romance arc, with Mohan’s sweetheart standing by him as he faces powerful rivals.
The movie was shot by cinematographers Arvind S Kashyap and Renadive, with music by the well‑known Jakes Bejoy. Edit work comes from Sreejith Sarang and art direction by Jithu Sebastian. Stunts were choreographed by Rajasekhar, Kalai Kingson, Supreme Sundar and Mahesh Mathew. Producers Sandip Senan and A V Anoop team up with writers G R Indugopan and Rajesh Pinnadan to bring the story to the big screen.
Fans of Indian action cinema can look forward to a film loaded with high‑octane scenes, memorable music, and a strong lead performance from Prithviraj. “Vilaayath Buddha” sets out to be a fresh entry in the Tamil action genre, and its release on November 21 is the first chance to see why everyone’s talking about it.
