WPL 2026: Harmanpreet, Mandhana, Rodrigues, Verma amongst retained players; Deepti, Healy, Lanning released

India’s top‑women cricketers are set for the next Women’s Premier League auction on November 27, and fans have already seen who each team will keep. The WPL has a rule that a squad can keep up to three Indian internationals, two overseas stars, and two Indian uncapped players.
Mumbai Indians keep star batter Harmanpreet Kaur, overseas powerhouses Hayley Matthews and Nat‑Sciver Brunt, and Indian specialist Amanjot Kaur. They have released players like Amelia Kerr, Pooja Vastrakar and Yastika Bhatia into the auction pool.
Delhi Capitals hold on to Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma, along with overseas picks Annabel Sutherland and Marizanne Kapp, and uncapped Niki Prasad. The club has let go of international names such as Meg Lanning, Radha Yadav and N Sree Charani.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru have decided to keep Smriti Mandhana, the Australian pacer Ellyse Perry, Indian all‑rounder Shreyanka Patil, and Richa Ghosh. They released players including Sophie Molineux, Renuka Singh Thakur and Danni Wyatt‑Hodge.
UP Warriorz made a fresh start by retaining only Shweta Sehrawat, the uncapped batter who lifted the U19 World Cup in 2023. They have released Alyssa Healy, Deepti Sharma, Sophie Ecclestone and Kranti Gaud.
Gujarat Giants are banking on Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney, and have put on the auction list players like Laura Wolvaardt, Harleen Deol and Kashvee Gautam.
Team rosters differ: Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals keep the full five-player limit allowed by WPL rules. Royal Challengers Bengaluru keep four, while Gujarat Giants keep two and UP Warriorz only one. Consequently, only RCB, GG and UPW will have the option to use a Right‑to‑Match card at the November 27 auction in New Delhi.
These decisions set the stage for a high‑energy WPL auction, and fans can look forward to seeing which stars will appear on new teams or stay with their current franchises.
